We explain the needs of every dog to potential owners so they can make an informed decision. We would always over-emphasize those needs in the case of a potential mismatch, encouraging the family to think long and hard about the breed requirement.

About the post: I could have acted as if Buster never came from us. But then, it would just be a story about Buster, with no lessons to learn. It is my hope that someone who may find themselves in a similar circumstance will stop and think before making the wrong decision, whether that's us or a potential dog-owner.

Buster was a bad fit for that family. I didn't say anything in the blog post that I didn't say to them.

We're trying to make this right with Buster. We tried to make it right by not placing another dog with them and by finding him a wonderful home where he can fit. (I could've taken the sale and made some money, but I didn't.)

Their mistakes were aired on the internet, but their identity was not revealed and won't be.
Anyone could make the same mistake. We recognize that. We wish it didn't happen that way. We look back, second guess ourselves, and ask if we missed something bigger. We ask ourselves how we can keep this from happening again.

Now we'll tell the story about Buster to any potential dog-owner who comes in looking for one thing and tries to choose another.

Our readers can learn from this experience. That's why we've shared it.

You are clearly looking for an argument, and you won't find it here.

From now on, please post with your real name and stop hiding behind "Anonymous", or we won't be posting your comments.

Thanks,
JessicaJessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03376197508129975186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485031950516545372.post-39463542899264259612008-12-10T20:14:00.000-05:002008-12-10T20:14:00.000-05:00I am not sure why you feel the need to defend your...I am not sure why you feel the need to defend yourself, when through out your blog you attacked the previous owners of Buster. Yes, they made mistakes and unfortunately they are not alone. You made a mistake by selling him to them and your only defense is that was not "super obvious". However, in the paragraph before you made sure to let everyone know how detailed you where in explaing the needs of the dog. It is okay to be humble, it is never okay to be humiliating. I am not sure how you would feel having your mistakes aired on the internet. You have amazing bussinesses, it unfortunate that you lack the ablity to admit your wrong without having to defend yourself. I hope and pray that your blog does not have a negative impact on your bussinesses. At the same time maybe a lesson in humility is what you need.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485031950516545372.post-41526057452058210442008-12-10T18:30:00.000-05:002008-12-10T18:30:00.000-05:00I apalled that someone would have the balls to ask...I apalled that someone would have the balls to ask you to justify the amazing work that you are doing. I know the cost of shots and housing and food all needs paid for but I still can't see the justification in such a high cost for a dog that you guys are saving and trying to find a home. You've taken in dogs from places that couldn't get people to buy them for a cost that was probably much lower than your own, and now you are charging potential owners $450 dollars, where is the logic in that? I would love for you guys to provide some insight into this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485031950516545372.post-21877998547759956482008-10-19T00:16:00.000-04:002008-10-19T00:16:00.000-04:00Hi Jess,I have been reading the posts that have be...Hi Jess,

I have been reading the posts that have been written on the Lucky Puppies, I am so happy that the little ones have found new homes.

I wanted to give you a thanks on some puppy info. Awhile back I had asked if you ever had chinese crested and you said you didn't get any.

Well I found some online, the price range was $200 to $2,000. I had managed to find one that I could afford. My little guy came from a small town outside of Dayton, Ohio. his name is Gizmo.

I wish there were more people that could love these little dogs enough like I do.

My Gizmo, is a sweet heart and he is learning to live with a cat. I would send pictures if I knew how to load them to my pc.

Thanks once again for the info. The chinese crested is truly a beautiful dog rather it is a hairless or powderpuff.

JoanneAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01463155669318962771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5485031950516545372.post-88053929196144727702008-10-17T20:18:00.000-04:002008-10-17T20:18:00.000-04:00It's only been about 3 hours since I adopted Bruse...It's only been about 3 hours since I adopted Bruser, but so far, so good. I was given your web address by one of my friends who bought her puggle from you. We have a puggle as well and were looking to buy another one. Well I started looking at the website every day since she had given me the info. One day I came across the 4 or 5 black and white lab/beagle mixes that were going to be put down that you guys saved. I checked on those puppies everyday and then finally on Friday, Aug. 15th I called my husband and told him I wanted one. Well that Saturday, Aug.
16th we drove 1hr to get him. It was the best day! We ended up naming him Ike and he's the best puppy ever! Our puggle loves him and they play constantly!
